Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Nov. 21.

NETWORKING— Big Island Honda, Lavakids and PATH teamed together to bring AfterHours attendees the latest news in transportation and active living. Guests enjoyed learning about the latest advancements and technology from each of the three hosts.

Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce (KKCC) attendees enjoyed a delicious taco bar as they networked and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. Also on the menu was liquid aloha generously donated by Kona Brewing Company. Sustainable Island Products provided the serving ware for the pupus.

During the event program, each host shared exciting updates with the audience. Tina Clothier from PATH announced that in early 2019, three new bike-share stations will be installed thanks to sponsors Kona Commons, Brewer’s Block and West Hawai‘i Community Health Center. Tina also applauded the recent success of the green painted bike lanes and unveiled their new Vision Zero initiative. PATH is proposing the Vision Zero strategy to the County to “eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all.” For more information about PATH, visit www.pathhawaii.org.

From Lavaman Triathlon, Gerry Rott spoke about their non-profit arms which aim to promote healthy and active lifestyles for Hawai‘i Island youth through events, camps and activities: LavaKids and LavaTeens.
